It's monotonous

I went out to dinner yesterday with my brother, mom, aunt, two uncles one one of their long term partners (they've been together since before DH and I ever met, and why the two of them don't marry I'll never know). It was a good time. We all went back to my aunt's afterwards for decaf coffee, tea, and gluten free doughnuts. It was there that I learned that my aunt's oldest son and his wife are expecting again. He just came home from Iraq in May - in May! - and she's due next May. What is this? They can get pregnant with their second in - what? - three or four cycles, while I can't even manage it once in two years and 30 cycles plus the aid of a fertility specialist, one surgery, a myriad of tests, vitamins, and medication?

I told DH when I came home. He didn't say anything initially. Instead, he walked back to the computer room to check his fantasy football lineup. I could tell he was disappointed. He told me a short time later he just needed a few minutes to himself after that news.

Every time - every time - I start to get a little bit of hope back - to feel more comfortable with where we are in the process - something comes along to push me back down and rub my face in the mud. I was so hoping to be pg - and to know it - before my coworker gets back in November and the baby talk resumes. I have a month - just enough time to get used to my cousin and his wife's 2nd pregnancy before being knocked down again. Oh, goodie.

IF sucks.

I think the shock of unexpected announcements stings me more than the actual announcement itself. That is really tough- I sure hope God has a baby blessing coming to you before Turkey Day!

I hate the announcements....I am always cringing at "girl get-togethers" Ugh! I feel your pain! You asked about the "smooth moving tea"....there are some pains...but not that bad! Bummer about the Phils! Could we see a Yankee/Phils match up in the WS???

I know that is bad however a friend told me that her neighbor's daughter got pregnant the one month she went to visit her husband in LA(this will be baby #2). I guess she lives in IL and he's in LA for work. They can't afford a house right now so she's living with her parents. My friend stated openly "I guess she was there long enough to get the deed done." I wasn't really amused...it just rubbed in my face how easy it is for the fertiles to get pregnant. It's a world I have no idea what it is like. Oh well...life goes on.
