Lovely. Just lovely. There has been a confirmed case of croup in the Older Toddler room at daycare. How perfectly peachy. And according to Dr. Sears, it’s about as catching as the common cold. Doesn’t that just put the feather in the cap? How perfectly, perfectly wonderful.
I don’t need to explain just how worried I am now, do I? Most cases if croup are mild, but they can become dangerous and even deadly. The son of one of the girls on the baby board died from croup complications when he was only around Kathleen’s age. This does not fill my heart with warm fuzzies.
I'm telling myself that Kathleen is not that child. I'm telling myself that she may not come down with it, and if she does, it will follow the majority of cases and be mild. But this is our daughter! Mild or severe, it's a catastrophe to us.
Croup, do you hear me? Leave our girl alone. Leave. Her. Alone.
