I never thought I'd see the day
My husband and I attended a viewing of FIL's girlfriend's father yesterday. Among the people there was his pregnant granddaughter. She looked to be in her late second or early third trimester. About 20 minutes after we arrived, she walked outside for a break - a smoke break. Yes, that's right, she walked out with a cigarette in hand. I couldn't believe my eyes. In this day and age . . . . How could anyone treat a pregnancy - a baby - so casually? Everyone knows that cigarettes and babies don't mix (for that matter, neither do cigarettes and anything compatible with life . . . like breathing).

So sad. I have a friend who's sister is pregnant and smoking as well. Breaks my heart but also shows the addictive power of nicotene. Although my mom smoked with both my brother and I and we were huge babies! So God can intervene...
Eeek. I don't think people truly understand the consequences of smoking while pregnant. Some get lucky and make it through full term, but there are huge risks and dangers. I think us IF's are more sensitive to it because here we are doing everything in our power to get PG and somehow, someway, they are able to carry while poisening themselves and their babies. So frustrating and heart breaking.
Yep. My own family member smoked with all her pregnancies. I hated to see it.
That is just CRAZY. I'm sure it struck you especially hard as you're carrying your little one right now!!
