Sleep deprivation, Cribs, and MILs

Tired. So very tired. Between my sore hips and DH's grinding teeth, bed time is anything but restful for either of us. Maybe in five years or so we'll feel partially rested again.

I think we're getting a crib tomorrow. We found one at Target we both like. It's one of the convertible types with wider slats and a dark finish. We won't be putting it together for awhile, since we don't know where to put it. We'd like to use the spare room, but, well . . .

MIL will probably be moving in with us. Due to her financial and health situation, she cannot keep up with her house. The spare room we had intended for the nursery will be her room until we can get the mother-in-law suite in basement finished off. Since we haven't started looking into that, it might be awhile. Well, we'll see. She hopes to move in before the baby is born. Given that she hasn't put the house up for sale yet - and she procrastinates horribly with these things (who doesn't?) - Junior may be two years old by the time she's ready to move in.

Oh no! You need your sleep now. I hope you get some rest soon.

That's a rough situation with MIL.

I am so sorry you are having a tough time. And wow, that is a stressor, having the mil issues.... I will pray that you find peace in all this....

We, also, are looking at having to support my mil. Sigh.

Sorry about the sleep issues. I hope that your MIL situation turns out as stresslessly as possible.

It will be stressful on all parties getting MIL from her place to ours (really, I don't think it can happen before October since her house isn't at all ready to go up for sale), but once everyone gets settled in, I think it will work out work out well. MIL won't have financial worries and she'll have company, while DH will be able to keep an eye on her and worry less about how she's getting on. And when we get her her own space in the basement (fortunately, it's a walk-out with full-size windows and a bathroom rough-in), both she and we will have privacy when needed. It'll work, but it'll take time to get there.
