How did she get so big?

Baby girl had her four month appointment yesterday (interesting since she's five months today). She's weighing in at a hefty 15.4 pounds and measuring 26-1/4 inches which puts her in the 83rd and 90th percentiles, respectively. She's getting so big. I have evidence of it every day as I watch her fill out her 6 - 9 month clothes, clothes that would have hung on her two short months ago. I remember when the 3 month clothing hung on her. Even so, I'm in awe. She's growing so fast.

She's developing well physically and socially. She's dead on for milestones - sitting up straight and tall and standing strong with a little support, interacting, following what's going on around her, smiling, laughing, babbling, gnawing on her fingers, trying to shove her toes in her mouth (she'll succeed one of these days, I'm sure) - and even at the six month level on some. I am, of course, proud of her. I can't believe the change when I compare the little girl I have now to the newborn of five months ago. Night and day. She's not the same baby at all.

She still has her blue eyes. I think they'll stay that way. DH's are blue, so it's not out of the realm of possibility. Her hair, however, is changing. She was born brunette; I swear it's turning blond. That happened with DH, as well, but it surprises me. I suppose I'm not used to that. In my family, we're either born brunette and stay that way, or we're born blond and turn brunette. It's never the other way around.

She's still fighting her cold. The pediatrician heard some mild wheezing but not enough to be at all concerned about. She says its common for bronchiolitis. If it were to come to anything more serious, it generally happens within the first two weeks. We're past that point by a day or two. But bronchiolitis likes to hang around. She'll be dealing with the mucus and resulting coughing, sneezing, wheezing, and runny nose for the next two to four weeks. Lovely. Well, until she's over it, she's sleeping in the swing while I sleep on the couch.

The next appointment is two months. I shall prepare to be amazed at how much she'll be sure to have changed between now and then.

Man alive! She is a big girl! What a blessing. I just took Dominic in today, a week before he turns 6 months, and he's 13 pounds! He's in the 1%. Poor little guy. Even more reason for me to supplement. I can tell he's plumping up, thank Goodness. Happy four months litle lady!
