Shoot. Our dog has hypothyroidism. We just had a call from the vet on the results on her bloodwork from her annual appointment. I let the answering machine pick up since we've been getting telemarketing calls (didn't want to deal with it). When I figured out it was the vet and what he was saying, I let the machine continue taking the message. There was no way I was going to remember everything he said.
DH doesn't know yet. He's out getting groceries. He loves that little dog - and no wonder since she's so perfectly adorable and irresitable. The moment he hears that she has a problem, he's going to go into panic mode. I know him. He panicked when he learned that she had an ear infection a few months ago - which, but the way, is a possible indication of a thyroid problem.
Well, I'm preparing now. I've Googled it. I'll be able to tell him that it's fairly common in dachshunds. He's going to have a concern when he learns that she'll probably need to take medication for life. He just loves his little girl.
