Hospitals, Holidays, and B6

We learned that MIL's surgery will be on June 10. The doctor still has no idea of the extent of the fracture since he's waiting on the CAT scan images. This hospital is truly terrible about that sort of thing. The doctors send patients all over creation for tests upon tests and make plans before they ever get the results. They never - and I do mean never - consider the patient's time when scheduling appointments. They don't even ask when might be a convenient time. They set up the appointments when they get a chance and tell the patients to look it up online. Worthless.

What shocks and disappoints me is that the doctor hasn't tried to find out why the vertebra fractured. He mentioned in passing that osteoporosis can cause that, but he hasn't bothered testing for it or anything else. They don't care about the "why" at all. Completely worthless.

G.eisinger, the hospital in question, is supposed to be the biggest and greatest hospital in her area - all the latest technology and best doctors. Right. I'm sure they have that, but they're not up on all the latest procedures, and they're too big. It's impossible for them to be organized or use their resources - human, technological, or financial - in any efficient manner.

I remember they were trying to merge with H.ershey Medical Center down our way, a big teaching hospital. The deal fell through when the two hospitals decided they weren't a good match. Hershey medical staff couldn't stand G.eisinger after their brief association. Completely different motivations since Hershey's more people-focused and G.eisinger, technology. That gives you an idea of what they're like.

On the upside, long weekend coming up. DH and I took the entire week off to do yard work. Mulching mostly, but I hope to get my flowers and veggies in the ground, too. We need to dig out a new veggie garden. We've been doing it in large, self-watering containers, but it's a pain to lug them to a sunny location, fill them, and then clean them out again at the end of the season.

On TTC news, I'm not sure when I ovulated. I think I peaked yesterday (CD15), but the 8CKL may well have been left over from BDing the night before. I'm not sure how well I clear. If that's the case, I could have ovulated on Wednesday. Of course, my OvaCue monitor doesn't agree with that assessment at all. According to that, it was CD10. I know I had fertile type mucus through Wednesday at least, so that reading may be wrong. It can be thrown off by high sodium intake. Hmmmm, I suppose time will tell.

I remembered the other day that high B6 can lengthen the luteal phase of a cycle and is sometimes used to treat luteal phase defect. That might explain the relatively long LP in my last cycle. 500mg of the stuff is bound to have an impact, right? So I won't get my hopes up if I run to 14DPO this time. Besides, our timing was okay this week but definitely not the greatest. I'm not seeing a BFP at the end of this. Hope for the best, prepare for the worst (or in our case, the usual).

That last - I know just what you mean. It's just the usual. (Maybe I'll get myself some of this B6 you speak of...it's also supposed to increase CM, right? And it's non-prescription?)

Yes, it's not a prescription and Dr. S prescribed it to improve CM. And it has, too, but at such a high dosage, I'm only to take it for two months before moving down to 100mg per day.
