Did you know all four-legged animals say meow?

It's true. I initially thought it was all small, four-legged animals, but Kate demonstrated to me at the Farm Show on Saturday that horses say meow also. Ergo, Clydesdales are cats. Who knew?

We took the mobile munchkin to the 96th PA Farm Show. The Farm Show is the thing in this area. Everyone looks forward to it. Animals, food, exhibits, and exhibitions all part of the largest indoor agricultural event in the U.S. It all takes place within the Farm Show Complex, a series of 11 connected building which comprise 24 acres. Think of that - 24 acres all under roof.

For foodies, the Farm Show is best known for its milk shakes and potato doughnuts. The doughnuts are heavenly. We bought a dozen to take home on Saturday. They were gone within 36 hours. We have no will power. None. Okay, I have no will power.

Kathleen could take it or leave it. She spent the majority of the day in her stroller watching the action from her stroller - soaking it in, I suppose. She did have the opportunity to pet a horse and an alpaca. The pigs didn't impress her nor did the rabbits or the chickens. She looked like she wanted to get to know the sheep better, but the one kept trying to eat her shoe. She wasn't sure what to make of him.

All in all, we had a good day (who couldn't with a bag full of potato doughnuts). We'll have a better one next year. Next year, Kate will understand where she is and what all those animals are about. Next year, she won't be overwhelmed by the huge crowds. Next year, she'll be able to walk around the show free from the confines of the stroller, because next year, we'll have finally bought that baby leash.
