18 inches

Of snow, that is. That's how much we got this weekend. Actually, I think it was slightly higher. Whatever, it was deep. This is the most snow we've had since we brought Sadie, our dachshund, home years ago. It tops her by a good bit. I've always wondered how uber-dox would react. Would she barrel through it creating dachshund tunnels? Nope. She did do a doughnut in the back yard looking for a place to go on the first morning, but other than that, she's ignored it.

Our neighborhood is a maze of shoveled sidewalks. It must look like a bunch of tunnels to our poor girl. She's too short to see anything other than a wall of snow. I believe that must be why she's choosing to walk down the middle of the road. Much more interesting.

Muggles, our cat, will have nothing to do with the snow. She refuses to step outside. If I put her out, she shakes her paws as she turns around and walks right back in. She's very fastidious, Muggles is.

DH refused to let me help shovel or snowblow. While I don't like doing either, it made me feel like a lazy slob. Other women were out helping their husbands. What must they think of me? It hardly matters. I'm sure they didn't notice or care that I wasn't out (that's what I need to keep telling myself).

I'm amazed at all these snow reports. Just incredible.

I doubt anyone noticed and you absolutely need to be taking it easy!

That's funny - I guess cats are like people in that way, it depends on how they're raised. Our cats growing up were indoor/outdoor, and they refused to be housebound in any weather at all. But, like your dog, they never tried to go through a snowbank over their heads. Clever creatures. But I guess if they hadn't grown up in it, they wouldn't have dealt with it at all - I never realized that!
