During my PIO session yesterday, I found a little more about the ultrasound my doctor wants to order. It's to be scheduled for this week, 10 - 14 days after the original u/s, not 10 - 14 days after he reviewed it. The nurse said it's routine to schedule follow ups, but I'm worried. While I saw Dr. S's brief notes - and all they state is to have a follow up - the nurse labeled the order to check for low fetal heart beat (96 bpm at 6 weeks, l day is a low normal). She told me not to worry as she was doing this, they just want to see it go up a little.
Don't worry. Right.
The nurse didn't seem overly concerned. Dr. S's notes didn't appear too detailed or concerned. The on-call doctor who initially reviewed my u/s and works with Dr. S, didn't seem troubled enough to immediately recommend another u/s in another week (she said everything looked fine) or to suggest to Dr. S to review my u/s the next day so he could make the recommendation - he didn't review it until a full week after the images were recorded. And others have said the Dr. S likes to keep close tabs on his IF patients, and, thank you Tucked Beneath His Wing, his early pregnancy patients. My DH and I are holding on to these positives.
I keep telling myself to keep off Google. I'm usually good about it, but every so often, I cave and end up scaring the crap out of myself. It's ironic. Armed with a little information, saddled with a lot of worry. Note to self: no more researching heart rates at 6 weeks. No more. Ignorance is true bliss.

Yes, no more google for you! My doc did the same thing when I was 5 weeks 2 days and he couldn't detect a fetal heartbeat. He recommended a follow-up u/s. They just want to make sure things are progressing. I know that week long (in your case 10 day) wait is very worrisome. I will pray for these next 2 days to fly by!
The internet can be a blessing and a torture. It does sound like he is just watching you extra close. From my past, I think if your dr. was overly concerned, he would've had you come in immediately (my Dr. has). Still, I feel your concern. Praying for you.
I know you're probably right. Odds are, everything wil be fine, and if Dr. S were concerned, he'd have moved on all of this a lot sooner.
Where did my comment go? Is today your u/s? Praying for you this morning.
